US fans can get their hands on a PS5

WHile getting your hands on a PlayStation 5 is becoming more and more rarer, it also seems like it has also sold out everywhere – from Amazon to Target to Best Buy.

However, everywhere that is, except for one unassuming location: HSN.

On HSN you can get a PlayStation 5, a controller a headset and so much more for less than $1,000 with HSN’s PlayStation 5 Accessories Bundle.

The bundle—which costs $999.99 from its original price of $1054.99—includes a PlayStation 5 console, a Sony DualSense Controller, a wired headset, a dual dock charging stand for up to two controllers, as well as two software vouchers for various games services.

The price is $999.99, but with HSN’s current HELLO10 discount code (which can be entered at checkout and is available for new customers), gamers can receive $10 off for a final deal of $989.99.

PlayStation 5 tips when buying from GAME

If you’re excited about the predicted GAME restock, then follow these tips below.

    • Get familiar with the bundles, so you know which one to target first: Obscure bundles are easier to get, standalones almost impossible.
    • When alerted, click through to your first bundle of choice as quickly as possible, this will get you into the queue.
    • Checking out too much too quickly will give you a 30-60 second timeout, so don’t rush it. If this happens, just wait a bit then try again.

Uncharted star Tom Holland says Spider-Man provided 'incredible education' on stunts

Tom Holland says playing Spider-Man gave him an "incredible education" on performing stunts before filming Uncharted.

The actor says the upcoming adventure film, based on the video game of the same name, forced production teams to "push the limits of what we could do practically".

Holland stars alongside Mark Wahlberg as swashbuckling treasure-hunter Nathan Drake, who featured in the original PlayStation Game.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about the role, he said: "It was a very demanding film. We're lucky to have each other as a kind of team to lean on each other.

"There are elements about it that are different, but I've been very lucky with my stunt team that I work with on Spider-Man.

"They have given me an incredible education when it comes to stunts and dealing with wire work and designing sequences to be more effective and also more naturalistic."

Fraudster who used fake cash to buy PS5s caught after spelling blunder

A FRAUDSTER who used fake cash to buy PlayStation consoles was busted by a spelling gaffe.

Ross Melville, 27, passed £430 of the forged currency he'd bought to two sellers on Gumtree.

But a bank teller spotted pound was spelled "poond" on 19 fake £20s. Melville, of Aviemore, was given 100 hours' unpaid work at Inverness Sheriff Court after admitting last year's scam.

Latest predictions for UK retailer stock

    Amazon = medium chance

The last time we saw a PS5 restock at Amazon was back on January 19, so we’re definitely overdue one in the UK.

    Currys = low chance

There was a small restock of PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition consoles at Currys last week, however it’s unlikely they’ll have a restock.

    Game = high chance

We already have our eyes on Game this week as they are expected to restock very soon according to the PS5 bundle page.

Grand Theft Auto VI IS in development, confirms Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is currently in development.

In a statement posted on the company’s website, the studio has addressed concerns from players that there has been no news on the sixth game in the hugely successful series.

“With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series,” the statement reads.

“With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered – and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.

Rockstar is currently gearing up to release the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Grand Theft Auto V on March 15.

      PS Plus, explained

PS Plus is a premium subscription service for PS4 gamers.

It gives you access to online multiplayer as well as exclusive discounts across the PlayStation Store.

But it also nets you two hand-picked PS4 games to download and play each month, which remain available as long as you’re a member.

Many PS4 owners will subscribe to PS Plus for the multiplayer alone, so the free games are a pleasant bonus.

More shortages expected for this year

The PS5 console is still highly sought after – but shortages are expected to persist this year.

Sony had to lower its PS5 sales forecast for the year by over three million units to allow for the deficit.

But there’s ways to be in the running for a shiny new console – by following trusted stock trackers and waiting for a restock.

Scalpers will eventually have to drop the prices of the console to something more realistic, so holding out is the best option.

2021 was ‘the year VR broke into mainstream’ says retailer Curry's

UK electronics retailer Curry’s has declared 2021 “the year that virtual reality broke into the mainstream”.

Chief Alex Baldock said Oculus Quest 2 and PS5 were “stars” as “consoles flew off the shelves”.

However, the electricals retailer said in the ten weeks to January 8 sales in the UK and Ireland were down 6 per cent year on year.

That is expected to dent full-year profits and its shares fell seven per cent.

Mr Baldock said the market was “challenging” over the festive period due to “uneven customer demand” and supply chain disruption.

Details of Call of Duty Vanguard & Warzone Pacific Season 2 revealed

Developer Activision has announced the plans for Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 2.

The upcoming season will introduce a range of content across the titles and is due for release on February 14.

According to the Call of Duty website, new Warzone features will include Nebula V ammo and bombs, which emit poison gas, and portable decontamination stations to protect against them.

Meanwhile, the Vanguard multiplayer will be updated with two new mid-sized maps when the season launches.

First map Casablanca is set in a bustling Moroccan marketplace, and Gondola takes place in a European mountain region.

And at a later date, Season 2 will deliver the largest locale in Vanguard yet.

Activision also said: “An Arms Race with Armored War Machines is bigger than infantry combat — it’s piloting Motorcycles, Squad Transport Vehicles, and Tanks en route to destroying enemy bases.

"This and other features are expected to arrive during Season Two.”

MBL Show The 22 NEW gameplay on PS5

Sony San Diego has unveiled a flashy new gameplay trailer for MLB The Show 22, and footage is focused on PS5 / Xbox Series X|S versions. It will also be available on the Switch too.

The trailer also reveal two new legends that'll be joining the game's online Diamond Dynasty mode, however – Hall of Fame pitcher Randy Johnson and power hitter Ryan Howard.

There will presumably be many more announcements to come in the run up to release.

        Summary of today's PS5 news

The biggest news of today is that Amazon did not have a restock of the PlayStation 5 despite high hopes. In saying that, we've got our eyes peeled for a HUGE restock next Wednesday!

Sony has also revealed that an upcoming software update will give players the ability to say “Hey PlayStation!” – and then give the console a range of voice commands. Pretty cool if we say so ourselves!

And for fans in the USA, there is still stock about – that is if you want to spend over $1,000 for a PS5. It's an eye-watering amount, but HSN has got stock on bundles.

Explained: How to rebuild PS5 Database in Safe Mode

Detailed on Sony's website, Safe Mode can "solve issues by rebuilding the console storage database."

Your DualSense won't work wirelessly while you're doing this so have the cable ready to connect it.

Your console needs to be off to initiate this process, so make sure you let it power down fully.

This can also take a few hours so pick a time when the console won't be in use before committing to this option, just in case.

When you're ready to begin, press and hold the power button for about five seconds, releasing it after hearing the second beep.

Connect your DualSense controller with the cable and press the PS button on the front to wake it up.

Choose 'Clear Cache and Rebuild Database' from the list of options, and wait for it to do its thing.

Hopefully, working your way through this list will sort out the powering off issues.

If it keeps happening after trying everything listed here, the next step is to contact Sony's customer support.

Tips if your PS5 turns off randomly

Disable Rest Mode: If your PS5 is randomly going into Rest Mode, you can turn this off in the settings menu and it might be a super simple fix.

Go to Settings>System>Power Saving, and select 'Set Time Until PS5 Enters Rest Mode'.

You'll see options for 'While Playing Games' and 'During Media Playback'.

Choose 'Don't Put In Rest Mode' for both of these settings.

Use the rear USB ports: There are reports of a bug related to the PS5's USB ports — specifically the front.

If you're using an external SSD, need to plug in a headset, or charge your controller, it's natural to go for the port on the front.

But it's advisable to switch over to the high speed USB-A ports on the back.

If you've been having issues charging your DualSense while it's in Rest Mode using the front port, that should fix that problem too.

How to buy a PS5 from PlayStation Direct

Gamers in the UK can now register their interest to buy a PS5 straight from PS Direct.

All you need is the email address associated with your PSN account and off you go.

Invitations are usually sent out at 8am in the morning. Any remaining consoles are made available to everyone else at around 10am.

Unfortunately, there was only one PS Direct restock in the whole of January, so it'll be a race to grab one when stock levels are back up!

Unfortunately, Amazon will not be dropping any stock today, but regardless you’ll need to be a Prime Member as the early access Amazon is offering is to subscribers.

        Amazon PS5 update

It's not good use as once we reach 10am and Amazon still hasn’t dropped the console, we can call it a day.

It's known that the retailer frequently drops stock at around 8.30am, but we’ve seen it restock as late as 9.45am before.

However, we're pretty certain to say that it might be coming next week instead of today.
